Stuffed Soya Paratha

Green peas, stuffed in wheat flour dough to make parathas, is very common. In this recipe, soya and garlic have been added to the wheat flour, to make it extremely 'heart-friendly'. Serve them hot from the tava, as soya tends to make the parathas dry after a while, especially as these are made with minimal oil.

dough for stuffed soya paratha

  1. In a bowl put 1 cup  whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta). Whole wheat flour creates a chewier texture in the paratha dough compared to refined flour. This chewiness can be enjoyable and adds a satisfying bite to the overall experience.
  2. Add 1/2 cup  soya flour. Soya flour has good binding properties due to its protein content. This can be helpful in creating a slightly more elastic and manageable dough for the paratha.
  3. Add 1 tsp  grated garlic. Garlic adds a savory and aromatic quality to the paratha dough.
  4. Add salt to taste. We added 1/4th tsp salt.
  5. Add enough water to make a semi-soft dough. We added 1/2 cup water plus 2 tablespoons.
  6. Knead into a semi-soft dough.

A great combination of health and taste together... its the first time i used soya flour and am quite impressed to know how easy it is to work with... the tangy chatpata flavor of the stuffing and the healthy covering made from soya and wheat flour was an absolute delight... thank you...
