For macaroni hot pot- To make macaroni hot pot recipe, heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan, add the onions and capsicum and sauté on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
- Remove half of the onion and capsicum rings for the topping and keep aside.
- Add the garlic, tomatoes and chilli powder, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring continuously.
- Add the sugar, baked beans, macaroni, oregano, tomato ketchup and salt, toss gently and cook on a medium flame for another 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly with the back of a spoon.
- Arrange the prepared onion and capsicum rings on top and sprinkle the cheese evenly over it.
- Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°c (400°f) for 10 to 15 minutes or till the cheese melts.
- Serve the macaroni hot pot recipe immediately.

To make the Macaroni Hot pot, first heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan.

Once a little translucent, remove half of the onion and capsicum rings in a plate to be used as topping and keep aside.

Mix well and sauté for 2 minutes till the rawness from the garlic goes away.

Add the blanched and chopped tomatoes.

Also, add chilli powder for spice.

Add the baked beans as well.

Then, add the cooked macaroni and the oregano. It imparts a warm peppery flavour and hence enhances the taste.

Add tomato ketchup for colour and taste.

Finally, add salt to the Macaroni Hot pot.

Mix gently and cook on a medium flame for another 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.

Turn off the flame and transfer the mixture to a deep baking dish.

Spread it evenly with the back of a spoon.

Arrange the prepared onion and capsicum rings on top evenly.

Sprinkle the cheese evenly over it. We have used processed cheese here, you can use mozzarella as well.
