Ingredients

Raw Banana Crispies
1 1/4 cups parboiled and diagonally cut raw banana
2 cups corn flakes for rolling
oil for deep-frying

To Be Mixed Together Into A Batter ( Using 1 Cup Of Water)
3/4 cup plain flour (maida)
2 tbsp cornflour
1/2 tsp green chilli paste
1/2 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste
Method

    For raw banana crispies
  1. To make raw banana crispies, first parboil the raw bananas, let them cool, then peel and cut them diagonally.
  2. Make a batter by adding plain flour, cornflour, green chilli paste, chilli powder, salt and 1 cup of water to a bowl.
  3. Whisk the batter until smooth, breaking up any lumps that form.
  4. Dip each parboiled raw banana piece in the prepared batter and roll in the cornflakes till it is evenly coated from all the sides.
  5. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick kadhai and deep-fry, a few banana pieces at a time, till they turn golden brown.
  6. Serve raw banana crispies immediately with tomato ketchup.

how to parboil raw bananas?

  1. Raw bananas ( Plantains ) belong to the banana family but tend to be firmer and cannot be eaten raw. They require cooking and are used when green or under ripe. They are a staple food in tropical regions of the world and are used in varied ways like steamed, fried etc. They are referred to as "potatoes of the Caribbean" since they resemble in flavour. 
     
  2. To parboil raw bananas, cut each banana with a sharp knife into 2 pieces along with its skin and discard the ends. Wash well. You will require 3 raw bananas to make 1 1/4 cups parboiled and diagonally cut raw bananas.
  3. Add cut raw bananas to a deep saucepan of boiling water and cook for 8 minutes, or until they are 80% cooked.    
  4. Raw bananas are 80% cooked.
  5. Drain and cool. While the parboiled bananas cool we will make the batter.
  6. Peel the parboiled raw bananas by hand.  
  7. Diagonally cut parboiled raw bananas or cut to desired shape. You can cut them into thick or thin diagonal slices as per the recipe requirement.

i had always tried raw banana chips, but these raw banana crispies are even more delicious then that. The cornflakes gives an amazing crunch to this banana crispies. The spices in the batter lends a nice taste to the bananas as well . They tastes best when had with sweet and spicy sauce or tomato ketchup. I just loved this jain recipe and so did my family..
