Add the paneer cubes and toss well using a spatula. Cover with a lid and keep aside to marinate for at least 15 minutes. Arrange 3 marinated paneer cubes equally on each satay sticks. We will make 8 satay sticks. Heat non-stick tava with oil. Cook 3 satays at a time till they turn golden brown in colour form both the sides. Repeat step 6 to cook 5 more satay sticks in 2 more batches. Serve immediately with the remaining hot and sour sauce.

1 tbsp butter
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
1 tbsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch)
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tbsp dry red chilli flakes (paprika)
1 tsp mustard (rai / sarson) powder
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp- tabasco sauce
1/2 cup tomato ketchup
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp cornflour
1 tsp vinegar

Other Ingredients For Paneer Satay In Hot and Sour Sauce
24 paneer (cottage cheese) cubes
1 tbsp oil
2 tbsp red chilli sauce
1/4 cup prepared hot and sour sauce
1 1/2 tbsp cornflour
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch)
salt to taste
2 tbsp oil for greasing

1 tsp sesame seeds (til)
1 tbsp finely chopped spring onion greens

  1. In a bowl, add cornflour and add ½ cup of water and whisk well. Keep aside.
  2. Heat butter in a deep pan, add garlic and onions and sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute.
  3. Add tomato ketchup, soya sauce, chilli flakes, mustard powder, black pepper, sugar, and vinegar, mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring it occasionally.
  4. Then add the lemon juice, tabasco sauce, cornflour-water mixture and salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally. Keep aside.

I have a doubt that worcestershire sauce contains anchovy fish. I have seen making of worcestershire sauce in a TV show. Is it true? What is the vegetarian option for worcestershire sauce ?

The image tempted me to try this recipe....yummy!The well balanced flavours of the barbeque sauce, garlic, spring onions and the lemon rind give the grilled paneer a unique taste.
