How to make Strawberry Salsa

  1. To prepare strawberry salsa at home, wipe the strawberries with a piece of damp kitchen paper. Wiping the strawberries instead of washing them ensures the fruit doesn’t absorb a lot of water as the strawberry tends to leave water.  Pick strawberries that are red through and through. An underripe strawberry will be white or slightly greenish at the top. They are sour and the salsa will require more refined sugar and might still taste a little sour.
  2. Remove the stems and discard them. When strawberries are not in season and you wish to make this jam then make use of frozen strawberries.
  3. Cut strawberries roughly and transfer to a deep bowl to prepare the easy strawberry salsa recipe.
  4. Add finely chopped onions. Jains can skip adding onions.
  5. Add finely chopped coriander for a herby freshness.
  6. Add cumin seeds powder. This is one of the most important condiments used to flavor Mexican dishes.
  7. Add finely chopped green chilies. Add more or less as per the spice level you prefer. When preparing for kids, skip adding chillies all together or add chilli powder or chilli flakes instead so, they don’t accidentally bite into it.
  8. Add powdered sugar. You may require more or less depending upon the sourness of strawberries.
  9. Add lemon juice for a tangy flavor. It will also prevent the strawberry salsa from discoloring. Add salt to taste.
  10. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and mash it lightly. Our strawberry salsa | Indian style strawberry salsa | strawberry salsa at home |  is ready.

I was going to make a regular salsa for my party and I came across this lovely recipe and gave it a try as strawberries are in season. Everyone enjoyed with nacho chips and kept asking for more. Kids and adults loved the sweet tangy fresh taste. Will make it again and again for every party of mine.
