Tips for Til Ke Laddu Recipe

1. Roast Sesame Seeds Slowly

Dry roast the sesame seeds on a slow flame until they are aromatic and slightly color-changed  this prevents burning and bitterness.

2. Stir Continuously While Roasting

Keep stirring the sesame seeds constantly so they roast evenly and do not stick or burn.

3. Grind Sesame for Smoother Texture

If you prefer smoother laddus, consider coarsely grinding the roasted sesame seeds before adding them to the jaggery mixture.

4. Check Jaggery Syrup Consistency

Cook jaggery until it reaches soft ball stage test by dropping a bit of hot jaggery syrup into cold water; it should form a soft ball.

5. Add Peanuts for Extra Crunch

Roasted and crushed peanuts not only add texture and flavor but also help bind the mixture well.

6. Use Cardamom for Aroma

A small amount of cardamom powder enhances the aroma and taste, making your laddus more flavorful.

7. Shape Quickly Before Cooling

The mixture hardens fast as it cools  shape the laddus while warm so they bind nicely and hold shape.

8. Wet or Grease Your Palms

Moistening your palms with a bit of water or ghee prevents the mixture from sticking to your hands.

9. Don’t Overroast Sesame

Overroasting can make sesame seeds bitter. Stop roasting once they are aromatic and just lightly golden.

10. Store Properly in Airtight Container

After cooling completely, store laddus in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them fresh longer.

We don?t weigh the weight of the food we cook. We either show portion size like dosa, ladoo etc or estimate the amount a serving size is. The key to take from the analysis of a recipe is if it''s healthy and fits into your lifestyle. When in doubt, eat less of that recipe.
