microwave Besan Ladoo |  no-cook besan ladoo | microwave festival dessert |

Microwave Besan Ladoo is a quick, no-cook Indian sweet that brings together tradition and convenience in one delicious bite. These melt-in-the-mouth ladoos are made with just a few simple ingredients — besan (Bengal gram flour), ghee, powdered sugar, and cardamom — and can be prepared effortlessly using a microwave. Perfect for festive occasions like Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, or any celebration, this microwave festival dessert saves time without compromising on authentic taste.

The magic begins with roasting besan in ghee, which releases a nutty aroma that fills the kitchen with warmth and nostalgia. In a microwave-safe bowl, the besan and ghee are cooked for about 8 minutes, with stirring every 2 minutes to ensure even roasting. This step is crucial — undercooking can leave a raw taste, while overcooking may burn the flour. Once roasted to perfection, the mixture is set aside to cool completely for about an hour.

When cooled, powdered sugar and cardamom powder are added, and the mixture is rubbed between the palms to achieve a crumbly, soft texture. This unique texture is what makes no-cook besan ladoo so delightful — smooth, aromatic, and lightly grainy. The addition of coarsely powdered almonds gives a pleasant crunch and adds a touch of richness to every bite.

Now comes the fun part — shaping the ladoos! Take a small portion of the mixture and roll it gently between your palms to form smooth, round balls. Repeat the process to make around 16 to 18 ladoos. These golden beauties are then garnished with almond slivers, adding a hint of elegance and a festive touch.

Store these Microwave Besan Ladoos in an air-tight container, and they’ll stay fresh for several days. Their rich aroma and satisfying texture make them a perfect sweet treat for kids and adults alike. They also make wonderful homemade gifts during festivals — easy to prepare, delightful to share, and loved by everyone.

Whether you’re short on time or new to cooking, this Microwave Besan Ladoo recipe is your go-to for a quick, delicious dessert. It proves that making traditional Indian sweets doesn’t have to be complicated — all you need is a microwave and a little love. So this festive season, skip store-bought sweets and celebrate with these homemade, ghee-rich delights that taste just as good as grandma’s! 🎉🍬

How to make Besan Laddoo ( Microwave Recipe)

    1. To make Besan Laddoo ( Microwave Recipe), add the 2 1/2 cups besan (Bengal gram flour) and 1/2 cup ghee in a microwave safe bowl.

    2. Mix well and microwave on high for 8 minutes, while stirring after every 2 minutes.

    3. Transfer the mixture into a plate and keep aside to cool for 1 hour or until mixture cools down completely. Don’t wait for too long to cool down. Otherwise, the sugar won’t mix well.

    4. Add 1 cup powdered sugar. Do not add sugar into the hot mixture otherwise, sugar will melt and the mixture will turn runny and you will not be able to form a ladoo. Also, increase the quantity of sugar if you like sweeter besan ladoo.

    5. Add coarsely powdered almonds (badam). You can toss in other dried fruits like pistachios, walnuts, cashew nuts too.

    6. Add 1/4 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder to enhance the flavour of besan laddus.

    7. Mix well to combine everything.

    8. Mix while rubbing the mixture in between your palms till it gets a crumbly texture.

    9. Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a round laddoo. Ensure the besan ladoos have no cracks. Also, grease your palms with ghee while making balls if required.

    10. Repeat step 9 to shape 16 more laddoos.

    11. Garnish with almond (badam) slivers.

    12. Store in an air-tight container and use as required.

Great of course. If raisins, cashews and pecans/walnuts are coarsely cut or crumbled the laddos become even more festive!
