Apricot Orange Cookies ( Growing Kids Recipes)
Reviewed October 19, 2010by Sia Mehta

wow! really a 5 star recipe...my kid goes gaga over this recipe every time i make it. orange and apricot, an unique combination. sweet and tangy both flavours make this cookie a star. i never imagined making cookies was so easy and simple. here it says to use dried apricots chopped but i prefer soaking them first and then add, it comes out well.

Soya Bhurji
Reviewed October 19, 2010by Sia Mehta

i make this recipe more liking a stuffing than subzi for my daugthers tiffin. I simply stuff it into rotis or sometimes between bread slices and toast them. any form it tastes great. but sania (my daughter) does not like so much of soya so i make it with half grated paneer/ potato and half soya granules. i feel this is the best way to sneak in calcium, protein in kids diet as soya is rich in many nutrients.

Paneer in Spinach Sauce
Reviewed October 19, 2010by Sia Mehta

paneer and spinach an awesome combination loved by all (im sure). i love spinach in any form...this ones my fav coz it is simple yet very delicious and taste best with hot naan or even with phulkas. USP of the recipe is the ground paste, an amazing combination of ingredients never thought before...but believe me the flavour blend so well with spinach and paneer. when i feel bored to make low fat paneer i add tofu or boiled soya nuggets.

Moong Sprouts Pav Bhaji

Subzi that is indeed healthy! this one not only satiates your palate but also fulfills nutrient requirements especially for kids. my daugther often demands this recipe for tiffin as she loves pav bhaji. I make it with chopepd vegetables also (khada pavbhaji) i.e without mashing and it earns full marks too! try it!

Mixed Pulses with Vegetables
Reviewed October 15, 2010by Sia Mehta

very healthy as it has pulses as well as veggies...i buy readymade mixed sprouts from the market which i feel is easy and quick than to sprout at home (it saves time). last time when i made this subzi i added 2 tsp of khajur-imli chutney..it tasted good if you like little sweet and sour taste. i also roast red chilies, coriander seeds and cumin seeds lightly and then grind to a paste...it makes a difference!

Masala Cauliflower with Peas

i can blindly prepare this subzi now without referring any notes...it has become a part of my weekly menu of subzis. so much like the subzis that we make at home regular for lunch or dinner thats why i like to make it quite often. no fuss at all, in fact i make the coconut and garlic paste in bulk and refrigerate to whip this subzi anytime. however i sometimes add potato cubes along with or even deep-fried paneer pieces, any combination tastes just wow!

Gavarfali ki Sukhi Subzi
Reviewed October 15, 2010by Sia Mehta

Pressure cooked subzis are always healthy and quick to cook like this one. gavarfali is cooked with onions and garlic that very disticntly overshadows gavarfalis peculiar taste (which is not liked by everyone). onions also impart slight sweet taste to the recipe which i feel further enhances the flavour of the subzi. Once i added 1/2 cup curds mixed with 1 tsp of besan and it turned out good...i felt proud of my innovation as everyone loved the subzi!

Chana Palak ( Healthy Subzi Recipe)
Reviewed October 15, 2010by Sia Mehta

Never thought chana can be made so interesting by cooking with spinach, onion garlic paste and most importantly brinjal and tomato mixture. brinjals and spinach i know are rich in iron hence i make this recipe for my daughter to slyly include theese veggies in her daily diet. when bored of eating usual pulse subzis do try this one coz it scores a full 4 star rating from me and my fly.

Bharva Baingan
Reviewed October 15, 2010by Sia Mehta

i always avoided bharvan brinjals coz of the high amount of oil it requires for cooking untill i tried this low cal version! this recipe is surely a dieters choice as it uses just 1 tsp of oil and is pressure cooked. the filling is an innovative blend of onions and grated potatoes..different than ususal bharvan baingan mixture that uses only besan, spices and oil.
