Crunchy and masaledar, this is and ideal starter for serving with any meal! Nobody refuses Masala Papad, because it is light and appetizing, ensuring that you have enough place in your tummy for the upcoming meal. While we have prepared this snack with the standard combo of vegetables and chilli powder, you can exercise your creativity and try adding more finely chopped veggies like capsicum and cucumber, and perhaps even some boiled sweet corn kernels and other spice powders too.
For masala papad- To make masala papad recipe, heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, deep fry a papad till it turns light golden brown in colour from both the sides.
- Drain on absorbent paper. Repeat step 1 to deep-fry 2 more papads.
- For the roasted papad, hold one papad with the help of a tong and roast it over a medium open flame till light brown spots appear on both the sides.
- Repeat step 3 to make 2 more roasted papads.
- Place a deep-fried papad on a serving plate, sprinkle the prepared masala powder evenly over it.
- Top it up with 2 tbsp of onions, 2 tbsp of tomatoes, 1 tbsp of cucumber, 1 tbsp nylon sev, ½ tsp lemon juice and ½ tbsp of coriander.
- Repeat steps 5 and 6 to make 2 more masala papads.
- Repeat steps 5 and 6 to make 3 roasted masala papads.
- Serve masala papad immediately.
