Ingredients
Eggless Chickpea Waffles
1 cup soaked kabuli chana (white chick peas)
1/4 cup finely chopped mint leaves (phudina)
1/2 cup semolina (rava / sooji)
5 tbsp urad dal (split black lentil) flour
2 tbsp low fat curds (dahi)
1 tbsp finely chopped green chillies
1 tsp roasted and crushed cumin seeds (jeera)
salt to taste
1 tsp fruit salt
3 1/2 tsp oil for greasing and cooking
Method
Eggless chickpea waffle
 
- To make the eggless chickpea waffles recipe, put the soaked and drained kabuli chana in a mixer jar and blend to a coarse paste.
 - Transfer to a deep bowl. Add chopped mint leaves, semolina, urad dal flour, curd, chopped green chillies, crushed cumin seeds, salt and ½ cup of water. Mix well.
 - Cover and keep aside for 15 minutes.
 - Add more ½ cup of water and mix well.
 
Making eggless chickpea waffle
 
- Pre-heat the waffle iron till red hot.
 - Add the fruit salt to the batter and sprinkle 2 tsp of water over it. When the bubbles form, mix gently.
 - Divide the batter into 7 equal portions.
 - Lightly grease the waffle iron with 1 tsp of oil and pour one portion of the batter into each of the 2 moulds, cover and cook for 8 minutes or till the waffle is crisp and golden brown from both the sides.
 - Repeat with the remaining batter to make 5 more waffles.
 - Serve the eggless chickpea waffles immediately with green chutney.

- Soak ½ cup of kabuli chana (white chick peas) and coarsely crush them to get 1 cup of soaked and coarsely crushed kabuli chana

Take a deep bowl, add slightly less than 1 cup raw kabuli chana, wash and cover them with enough water. Soak ½ cup of kabuli chana (white chick peas) to get 1 cup of soaked  kabuli chana.

Waffles using Chickpeas..WOW!!...combo of chickpea and mint makes a lovely breakfast...its little time consuming..but the end product is just amazing...full of fibre and vitamins...
