Paneer Capsicum Toast Recipe: A Delicious Indian Snack

Paneer Capsicum Toast Recipe is a delicious and easy-to-make Indian snack, perfect for breakfast or evening hunger pangs.1 This Indian paneer toast combines the soft texture of paneer (cottage cheese)with the crunch of capsicum and the sharpness of onions, all packed between buttery, toasted bread slices. The result is a golden, crisp sandwich bursting with flavor, making it a great option for kids and adults alike.

The Flavorful Filling

The filling for this paneer capsicum toast is simple yet flavorful. It’s made using crumbled paneer, finely chopped capsicum, onions, green chillies, and fresh coriander, all mixed together with a pinch of salt.2This vibrant mixture not only adds a delightful crunch but also gives the toast a colorful and appetizing look. The spicy hint of green chillies and the refreshing coriander make it a truly chatpata Indian-style filling.

Assembling and Toasting

To assemble the cottage cheese toast, take two bread slices and spread a layer of butter followed by green chutney on each. Add one portion of the paneer-capsicum stuffing on one slice and spread it evenly. Place the second slice on top, buttered-chutney side facing down, and press lightly. Then, spread a thin layer of butter on the outer side to ensure it turns crisp and golden while toasting.

Toast the sandwich in a sandwich toaster or on a grill pan until it becomes beautifully golden and crisp on both sides. The aroma of toasted bread combined with sizzling butter and spiced paneer filling is simply irresistible. Once done, cut the paneer capsicum toast into four equal triangles or squares. Serve immediately with tomato ketchup and green chutney for that perfect desi touch.3

Health Benefits and Tips

This Indian paneer toast recipe is not just tasty but also nutritious, thanks to the high protein content of paneer and the vitamins from capsicum and onions. It’s ideal for a light dinner, a quick snack, or even a party starter. Kids especially love it for its mild spice and cheesy texture, while adults appreciate its wholesome balance of flavors.

Tips to make the perfect paneer capsicum toast:

  • You can substitute white bread with whole wheat bread for a healthier version.
  • Always use fresh malai paneer for a soft and creamy filling.
  • If preparing for Jain diets, skip the onions and add finely chopped cabbage instead.

With these easy tips, your paneer capsicum sandwich will turn out deliciously crisp on the outside and perfectly flavorful inside every single time.
