Believed to be of British origin, Flapjacks are a kind of cereal bar made with oats. Since they use butter and brown sugar, they have an intense flavour and slightly chewy texture, which is quite enjoyable.

Here is a very enticing flapjack recipe that adds cocoa to an already enticing scenario! Keep a batch of Oats and Chocolate Flapjacks in an airtight container, so you can catch a quick bite when hunger strikes at odd moments.

Oats and Chocolate Flapjacks also makes a healthy and tasty treat to pack for your kids tiffin .

I made a mistake while preparing, i mixed oats, brown sugar and butter at once. So after mixing, could not get the binding consistecy. After baking too, it could not bind. What can i do in this situation?

Tarla Dalal    It is delicate kind of chocolate bite, it will not be very firm like regular granola bars. But did you press the granola bar when you transferred the mixture in the baking tray??? If not that might one more cause it didn''t bind well. Do try the recipe again and share your feedback. Happy cooking!!!

Can we use normal powdered sugar instead of brown sugar?

Tarla Dalal    Hi Deepti, Using brown sugar is important for this recipe. Brown sugar does not melt and adds a nice crunch to this. If you use powdered sugar, recipe may not come out perfect. Do try this recipe and share your valuable feedback with us.
