To make instant corn dhokla, combine the sweet corn kernels and curds and blend in a mixer to a smooth paste. Transfer it to a bowl, add the semolina, salt, green chilli paste and ½ cup of water and mix well. Just before steaming, sprinkle the fruit salt, lemon juice and 2 tsp of water over it. When the bubbles form, mix gently. Pour the batter immediately into a 175 mm. (7”) diameter greased thali and shake the thali clockwise to spread the batter in an even layer. Steam in a steamer for 10 minutes or till the dhoklas are cooked. Cool slightly, cut into squares pieces and garnish with coriander and coconut. Serve immediately with green chutney.
It is really amazing how the fresh flavour of the crushed sweet corn kernels enhance the taste of the otherwise bland rawa. A unique set of ingredients blended with curds in this Indian rava corn dhokla is sure to win you many praises. And what’s more, it can be whipped up in no time at all!
Fruit salt works its magic by helping the dhoklas to rise without any fermentation. Make these sweet corn dhokla steamed snack in small moulds as individual portions, as kids will love it this way. But if the moulds are not available, make them in a thali and cut into pieces.

Tips for making instant corn dhokla. 1. Keep all ingredients ready before starting to make the recipe. 2. Add fruit salt when the water has been boiled in the steamer and you are ready to steam. 3. Before cutting the dhokla into pieces make sure you allow them to cool atleast for 5 minutes so the pieces can be cut easier.

what is corn dhokla made of ? instant corn dhokla made of 1 cup sweet corn kernels (makai ke dane), 1 cup semolina (rava), 1/2 cup fresh curds (dahi), salt to taste, 2 tsp green chilli paste, 1 1/2 tsp fruit salt, a few drops of lemon juice, oil for greasing, 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania) and 1 tbsp grated coconut. see below image of lists of ingredients for instant corn dhokla. To make batter for instant corn dhokla recipe | Indian rava corn dhokla | makai dhokla | sweet corn dhokla steamed snack, take a big mixer jar and add 1 cup sweet corn kernels (makai ke dane)

Add 1/2 cup fresh curds (dahi).

Close the lid and blend till smooth without using any water. This is how it looks after blending.

Transfer the mixture into a big bowl.

Add 1 cup semolina (rava), we have used the regular rava which we use for making upma and not the fine one.

Mix it gently using a spoon. This is very important if you mix it very well or vigorously. Then the fruit salt that gives us the softness and the puffiness will be not there anymore.

Pour the batter into a greased 175 mm. (7”) diameter thali.

Steam in a steamer for 10 minutes or till the dhoklas are cooked. Keep aside.

Cool slightly, cut into squares pieces using a sharp knife. This will make approx 12 pieces.

Sprinkle 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania) evenly for garnish.

To make green chutney for dhokla | hari chutney for Indian snacks | green chutney for sandwiches | take one fresh bunch of coriander. While buying dhania from the market, ensure the leaves are unwilted and have a deep green color with no signs of yellowing or browning.

Separate the leaves and the stems. We are only going to use the leaves and the tender coriander stems.

Rinse the coriander leaves in water to remove any dirt/mud that might be stuck to them.
