Tarla Dalal    Thank you for your feedback. This is brown rice and so it doesn''t get an absolute soft texture like white rice after cooking. Please keep sharing your reviews on recipes and articles you love.

How long in minutes does ‘7 whistles’ mean?

Tarla Dalal    7 whistles would take approx. 15 to 20 minutes depending on the size of the pressure cooker.

1] How much time should we soak it in water? 2] How many glasses of water should we put if we take 1 glass of brown rice?

Tarla Dalal    The soaking time is 30 minutes. We use a standard cup of 200 ml as a reference. Please use a standard cup and follow the measurements of the recipe.

How many more extra whistles should we cook it for, if we do not soak the rice before?

Tarla Dalal    Soaking is a must. Brown rice needs soaking to speed up the process of cooking.
