Chopped Methi Recipes, Indian Chopped Methi Recipes. Methi (fenugreek) is a green, leafy vegetable, with a slight bitter taste. It is a very important vegetable in the Indian cuisine, not only for its unusual taste but also for its medicinal uses. Chopped methi can be added to many dishes like parathas, subzis and even pakodas. The addition of methi provides a unique taste to the food.
Chopped Methi Breakfast Recipes
Methi Thepla, Thepla Recipe Without Curds for Traveller
Even though methi seems like a vegetable you can only eat for lunch of dinner, it can also be had as breakfast in the form of thepla, thalipeeth etc. You can add a bowlful of chopped methi leaves to Chana Dal Pancakes to add a little color and serve them with some dahi for breakfast. Methi, combined with paneer and spinach makes the ideal filling for a different, yet delicious, paratha. A lot of variations can be made in parathas as well like a kid's favorite Methi cheese paratha or a plain methi paratha.
Chopped Methi Recipes for Snacks
There are many recipes you can add methi to. The snacks you make can be deep fried or even baked or some not cooked at all. The taste of methi is so unique that you can add it to regular jar snacks like Namkeen Shakarpara and Crispy Methi Puri to better their taste. For a perfect monsoon snack, there is Methi Pakodas which are crispy from outside and soft form inside and best served with a steaming hot cup of tea.
Indian Chopped Methi Recipes
This vegetable is a very popular choice for many dals and subzis all over India. You can make anything varying from a subzi with gravy, a dry subzi, or even a delicious dal. The first two things that come to mind when I think of methi dishes are Methi Mutter Malai and Aloo Methi. Both these subzis are a staple in many Indian families and are enjoyed usually all throughout the year.
If you have any leftover dry aloo methi subzi, you can stuff it into parathas and make Aloo Methi Parathas. Spinach and fenugreek together is a winner combination that works well in any dish form may it be dhoklas, puris and even subzis. Palak Methi dhokla has a unique taste that is enhanced by a dash of chilli paste and hing which is accompanied by a spicy green chutney.
