To make soy milk, all we do is first soak soy beans overnight. Wash, remove the skin. We then blend the peeled soybeans in a mixer with water. Strain through a muslin cloth. All we have to do is heat the soy milk and then cool it. Your Indian style homemade soya milk is ready to have.

For soy milk
 

  1. To make soy milk, soak the soya beans in water overnight. Wash.
  2. Remove the skin from the soya beans by rubbing with your fingers. You will have to keep changing the water and removing the skin with 3 washes. Drain.
  3. Blend peeled soya beans in a mixer with 2 cups of water to a fine puree.
  4. Transfer to a bowl. Add 2 cups of water. Whisk well.
  5. Strain through a muslin cloth.
  6. In a deep non-stick pan, put the strained soya milk.
  7. Heat the soya milk on medium heat for 4 minutes and then 6 minutes on slow flame, stirring occasionally.
  8. Cool. Pour into a mason jar or glasses and chill.
  9. Serve soy milk chilled.

The milk is good but more so, I mistakenly left it to stay over night and it turned into yoghurt - a very delicious one for that matter
