White Wine has been made for centuries from just a two simple ingredients: yeast and grape juice. Actually, just about any fruit juice can be used, but by far the majority of all wine is made from the juice of the grape. A first thing first, why is "white" wine, not white at all, but yellow, golden or straw-like in color? Its color can be derived from an assortment of grape varietals. White wines are made from the grape juice and grape skin of green, gold or yellowish colored grapes or from just the juice (not the skin) of select red grapes
White wines actually cover a wide range of different tastes and colors. From clear white colors to golden yellows, dry, sweet or semi-sweet, they are the wines that are defined by their light color, body, and complex taste.

When you go to buy white wine, deciding which bottle to purchase can be a daunting task. This is particularly true if you aren't familiar with white wine, or don't have much experience with the beverage. When you go to buy white wine, go to the store prepared with a list of several wines and their corresponding ratings. If saving money is something that you're interested in, choose the lowest priced with the highest acceptable rating. Also, talk to the people who work at the store. They're around the stuff all day, and most times can give you some good insight as to which wines to try.
The quality of white wine is measured in four essential qualities namely- appearance, fragrance, sensation and finish. A wine that looks more presentable has a pleasing effect. Which is savoury gives a lasting thought.

Culinary Uses
· White wines are often consumed with lighter meals, think lunch, smaller dinners, and appetizers.
· They are more refreshing, lighter in both style and taste than the majority of their red wine counterparts, making them ideal for spring and summer occasions.
· White wines are typically less complicated than reds because of the effect tannin has on red wines. Therefore, white wine can be enjoyed whenever and wherever the mood strikes you.
· The sumptuousness of the wine is improved by serving nuts, dried fruit, and cheese.
· Chocolate is a double-barreled favorite, but notice that dark chocolate is a better match than sweet milk chocolate.
· They are also the least likely to offend the palate of a novice wine drinker.
· The important thing to know is that a white wine needs to be refreshingly cool, but if it's too cold, you will lose the subtle nuances of that expensive chardonnay.
· The whole purpose for finding good wine and food pairings is simple. Since wine can change the way your food tastes and vice versa, you want to pick a combination that will make the whole dining experience a pleasurable one.

How to Store
Storing wine is important because just like food, wine is perishable. Proper wine storage will help to ensure that the expensive
· Keep Bottles on their sides.
· Store in cool place with little temperature fluctuation.
· For long term storing, maintain high humidity levels.
· Keep out of direct sunlight and heavy vibrations.
· Find out the age worthiness of your wines before they are past their expiry date.
It's really important to ask yourself how long plan on storing the wine and for what purpose. If you're just a causal drinker and just want to store a few bottles for a maximum of a year or so, then your storage needs will be dramatically different than if you are buying wine as an investment.
