Description

Kurkure is one of the brand snacks, easily available in all the grocery stores across India. It is popular among children due to its crunchy chewy effect and salty, spicy, sour flavor. The pack consists of orange to brown colored thick sticks. It is available in a wide variety of flavors. It contains Rice meal, Corn meal, Gram Meal, Edible oil, Seasonings, Salt, Spices and Condiments and Flavors. Its manufacture is at Punjab, Kolkatta and Pune and confirms process and product safety.

How to Select

It is available locally in all the grocery stores, medical stores and supermarkets with varying size of packaging. You can see them stacked properly outside the stores. There a wide variety of flavors to choose from. Always check the date of packaging before buying it.

Culinary Uses

Kurkure is a snack in itself and can be had by children in their tiffin boxes as well.
You can use kurkure to prepare a number of snacks, which gives a variety in flavor, texture and color of the snack made. Try making the following using Kurkure:
l Kurkure Protein Punch. Just mix in together cooked moong dal, green dal and chopped tomato, onion, cucumber, mint leaves and coriander leaves. Squeeze lime, salt and chaat masala and mix thoroughly. Add Kurkure Masala Munch as a topping.
l Kurkure dahi chaat,
l Kurkure Bhel,
l Kurkure upma,
l Tomato Sev,
l Kurkure corn chaat and many more.

How to Store

The pack has a 6 months shelf life from the date of packaging if unopened. Once you open the sealed packet, try to consume it as soon as possible. There are chances that environment moisture may soften the Kurkure , so empty the pack in a air tight container and store in a cool dry area.

l The ingredients used to make Kurkure are daily cooked ingredients and hence it is considered as a healthy snack.
l It consists of Carbohydrates, proteins and fats, so can be called as a complete meal. But there is not much vitamins and minerals present in it.
