Preparation Time:

Baking Temperature:  180°C (360°F).

Ingredients


For Eggless Chocolate Walnut Cake
1/4 cup soft butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup plain flour (maida)
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp vinegar
1/2 cup roughly chopped walnuts (akhrot)
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1 tsp plain flour (maida) for coating

For Topping
2 tbsp roughly chopped walnuts (akhrot)
2 tbsp chocolate chips

Method

For eggless chocolate walnut cake

  1. To make {span class="bold1"}chocolate walnut cake{/span}, combine milk and vinegar in a bowl. Mix well and keep aside for 5 minutes.
  2. Combine walnuts, chocolate chips and 1 tsp plain flour in another small bowl. Mix well and keep aside.
  3. In a big bowl, add soft butter and powdered sugar, whisk it well till light and fluffy.
  4. Add vanilla extract and whisk well. In the same bowl, sieve plain flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda.
  5. Add milk and mix well to make a cake batter. Fold in the coated walnuts and chocolate chips in the batter.
  6. Transfer the batter into a greased and lined tin. Bake in a preheated oven at 180° c for 30-35 minutes or until the skewers inserted comes out clean.
  7. Carefully demould the cake from the tin and cut into 12 equal slices.
  8. Serve the {span class="bold1"}eggless chocolate walnut cake{/span}.
