Ingredients


For Cheese , Onion and Green Peas Pulao
3/4 cup grated processed cheese
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
3/4 cup green peas
1 1/4 cups long grained rice (basmati) , soaked for 30 minutes and drained
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 clove (laung / lavang)
2 piece cinnamon (dalchini) stick
1 bayleaf (tejpatta)
3/4 tsp green chilli paste
salt to taste
1/2 cup finely chopped coriander (dhania)

Method

For cheese, onion and green peas pulao

  1. To make {span class="bold1"}cheese onion green pea pulao{/span}, heat the oil in a deep pan, add the cumin seeds, clove, cinnamon and bayleaf and sauté on a medium flame for a minute.
  2. Add the onions and green chilli paste and sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Add the rice and sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Add the green peas, salt and 2½ cups of hot water, mix well and cover and cook on a slow flame for 5 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  5. Add the cheese and coriander, mix gently and cook on medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve the {span class="bold1"}cheese onion green pea pulao{/span}, hot or cool slightly and pack in a tiffin box.
